Pru understands our responsibility to the planet and are working hard towards being as sustainable as we can.
We predominantly use 100% natural fabrics for all our products, mainly linen and cotton, and unbleached wherever possible. Linen is the more sustainable fabric choice, using less energy and pesticides to produce than other fabrics. It is naturally biodegradable and recyclable, incredibly durable and looks better with age, making it a great sustainable choice for our products!
All Pru’s prints are designed in London and digitally printed. Whilst no manufacturing process is without impact on the environment, digital printing is regarded as one of the friendlier more sustainable printing methods available for fabric. This is due to reduced amount of waste water, inks and chemicals produced compared to traditional print methods. Our products from India are delivered by sea where ever possible to help reduce our carbon footprint.
Keeping it local…
We are so pleased that we have been able to keep some of the production locally in the UK. We work with local freelancers and a brilliant supplier in London who’s support has been invaluable.
Our cushion inners are made locally with duck feather filling using unbleached 100% cotton. The padding in all our quilted throws is 100% cotton.
All Pru’s packaging is also produced in the UK from eco friendly suppliers. They are already 100% recycled and all can be recycled again or are biodegradable, from the postal bags, boxes, tags, business cards to even the sellotape!
